One is the Loneliest Number

Why the heck can’t socks stay together?

I have no answers to this question, for I am only human. But I can help you solve the problem. I’d love to say I learned this solution through wisdom and education. But really, I learned it at sleep away camp in sixth grade. Tie your dirty socks together. If 11 year-old campers can return home with every sock, you too can keep your socks together.

As far the socks who’ve lost their match, don’t put those lonely singles back in a drawer full of pairs. Give them a place in the world! A quick Google search is a treasure trove of ideas for repurposing single socks as a duster, a heating pad, a pet toy and a bazillion other things. Alternatively, you can donate them! Socks are the most needed but the least donated item in homeless communities. The ODD Sock or Street Sox collects, pairs and distributes socks to those in need.

One may be the loneliest number, according to the song. But one doesn’t have to be the loneliest sock!
