Don’t look under there!
I love horror movies, but looking under a cutting board can be way scarier than watching that last character standing open a closet door. Why? Well, while most of us are pretty good at washing the heck out of the top of a cutting board, we’re not so great at drying them. Placing wet wood in a stack or on the counter allows mold, mildew and tannins to take hold. While there are ways to clean it, sometimes it’s best to replace — an expense no one needs!
There is an organizing solution to this. While you should always thoroughly dry cutting boards, storing them upright with space between each board will help prevent them from getting nasty. Inventors were way ahead of this problem and created racks that serve just his purpose. But even an old unused mail holder will do. My cutting boards upright on my counter for me to grab.
Trust me, you’re not the only one on the block with this problem that no one talks about. But much like a horror movie, you could be the character who defeats the monster and lives to enjoy some freshly cut fruit salad. A fruit salad scene was the only thing missing from Nightmare on Elm Street!
