Who You Callin’ Lazy?

I love a lazy Susan! What a perfect way to make a deep cabinet more accessible without having to actually climb inside in order to find something.

But I also keep a lazy Suzan on my kitchen island. This, of course, is supposed to be for items like salt, pepper, honey, and commonly used spices like red pepper flakes. (I would totally keep parmesan on it if I could). But the fact is that, in my house, the kitchen island ends up being the place where random things get thrown — a bill that needs attention, pens, medication, etc. It drives me bananas (which don’t go on the lazy Susan, by the way).

When the kitchen gets settled, I often put these little random items on the lazy Susan. It’s a great way of cleaning without having to hear questions that start with, “Hey! Where’s my [fill in the blank!]!? People in my household know that if they threw their glasses on the counter, chances are, they found a temporary home on the lazy Susan. And somehow, no matter how cluttered that lazy Susan is, the kitchen island looks neat and clean. Turns out, that Susan is one hell of a worker!
