Practical vs Pretty

Many people think that being organized means that the practical has to outweigh the pretty. But that’s not true. When decluttering and reorganizing, it’s always helpful to do a google images search for storage ideas that fit the style of your home. 

I think laundry detergent storage is a great example of storage possibilities that have to be practical, but can also be pleasing to the eye. I’ve always disliked the way detergent looks in the laundry room, sitting on top of the washer with blue liquid stains running down the side of of the plastic. Even the giant tubs of pods are ugly. 

You would be surprised how delightful it looks to have the blue liquid in a clear dispenser, or the pods in a glass air-tight jar, next to a reusable tissue box used for dryer sheets. Even those scent boosters, when out of their packaging, looks delightfully colorful when in a clear container or jar. It almost makes me sad it’s not laundry day.
