Do Put a Label on Me

Whenever I’m on the label-making portion of an organizing job, it always seems to take so much time that never feels as productive as the real physical and mental work of decluttering and organizing. Making labels feels like one of those things that’s solely for showing off on Instagram and not for real life, which is NOT what I’m about.

But labels are important, practical and a necessary part of organization.

My sessions are not just about organizing a space, it’s about helping clients to build habits and routines that keep them from needing me to come back again and again. You may be someone with bins in your house that contain everything from hair clips to jars of peanut butter. But once that bin is emptied and labeled underwear, believe it or not, you’re going to think twice before another jar of Skippy passes blow the rim.

Getting organized is nice. But staying organized is what I’m after. Sure, typing Extra Shampoo and Conditioner on my little label maker is a slog and neatly writing Leggings and Exercise Clothing on a chalkboard clip is a spacing nightmare, it’s all worth it! It’s all about leaving clients with a roadmap to lifelong organization and calm in their homes.
