Snack Time!
Decluttering and organizing can be very tiring. Sure, there’s a lot of physical labor with all the moving, lifting and hauling of items from the darkest corners of your home. But often the most tiring part is all the the micro decision-making. I’m talking about the constant barrage of choices that need to be made about every single item you come across.
Decluttering and organizing doesn’t necessarily require an organizer. What I do to best serve my clients is to keep the process moving. But I don’t do this like a trainer at the gym, chanting “One more pile!” and “Keep going!” I stay in tune with my client. I build breaks into the process. I even bring a variety of snacks and tell them to “hit the buffet.” Sometimes I suggest they go outside and grab some fresh air.
By hiring me, what might take an individual a month to complete takes one four hour session. This isn’t just because of of the time we spend doing, but because of the time we spend not doing. This is how I keep the process going. It’s amazing how a breath of fresh air and a snack from the buffet can work wonders.
